NSMP and px Group continue to invest in the next generation

We are pleased to announce our continued involvement with the Children Challenging Industry Programme (“CCI") which we facilitate in conjunction with our operating partner, px Group, and in partnership with the University of York.

The CCI Programme is tailored to engage younger children in science related activities to help generate their interests in STEM subjects and to inspire them to progress into STEM related career paths. Such activities include interactive visits to the Teesside Gas Processing Plant which provides a practical insight to our site operations. The experience helps to improve and deepen the children’s understanding of STEM concepts.

The support received from NSMP and px Group helps to fund specialist teachers who deliver STEM related learning to primary school students.

Richard Ozsanlav commented: “NSMP is delighted to be part of this great initiative. The importance of STEM in today’s world cannot be over emphasised and, due to technological advancement, the demand for STEM roles continue to increase. The brilliant work of the CCI Programme will help ensure that potential STEM skills gaps are addressed so as to be able to meet the future demand for roles, and ultimately, this will help boost the UK’s future economic growth.”

Katie Woods-Ruddick HR Director at px Group added: “At px Group we take enormous pride in being involved as much as possible with the communities we operate in up and down the country. The CCI programme is another example of that. It does outstanding work with children and is incredibly committed to helping children explore new opportunities – exemplified by the way the programme pivoted during the pandemic.”
